SRE not SORRY
Multi-disciplinary rapper SRE (pronounced "sorry") stands out for his distinct style and fierce charisma. SRE was born and raised in Scarborough, Ontario, where his Jamaican and African parents provided him with an environment conducive to music. As a toddler, he would dance and use a yoga ball, djembe, pots, and pans to create a DIY drum set while playing the theme song to "The Wiggles" every time the show aired.
In 2019, after competing in dance and talent shows for years, SRE began composing, recording, and engineering his songs. In September 2020, he released his debut EP Honda Vibez. As a result of this, he began to develop his fan base. In April 2021, he released a full-length concept album. He used art as a form of therapy to display his vulnerabilities in each song and skit. His lead single "RAMPAGE" received 50,000 streams in the early stages of SRE's career. At venues such as Meridian Hall, he performed his album as part of UrbanArts and ViBE Arts. In 2024, thanks to aSRE's consistency, he has been able to perform in dozens of cities and overseas, including Los Angeles and Kelowna, BC, where WhiteClaw sponsored him to perform at Altitunes Music Festival Ski Resort. In addition to having released his second album, Finding Mars, he has played at the Vaughan International Music Festival, and Oshawa Covergence Music Festival, as well as opened for Juno Award winner Haviah Mighty, Tona, Hip-Hop and Afro-fusion artist EverythingOShauN, R&B/Dancehall artist Omega Mighty, Elderbrook, and Vandelux.
As SRE progresses as an emerging artist, he hopes to inspire the next generation of younger artists to become resilient and pursue their talents. SRE does not plan on holding back with more music and video releases to follow in presently and beyond.
